Just a Little About Me

My name is Finley Shinnick and I am a current senior at Oaks Christian High School. I am a two-time national champion Irish dancer, played lacrosse, and can crochet and sew, but my true interest is in the STEM field. I have always loved math and science and am fascinated by the laws of the universe. I love math because of its never-ending continuation. Unlike in other subjects, any question can be answered or discovered by furthering your already existing knowledge. I have a special interest in topology and topological spaces. Learning more about them seems like unlocking a secret level in the big mathematical game of the universe. I am also president of a FemSTEM club at my school and love to help middle school and high school girls discover their place in the STEM field, and make mathematics a little bit less frightening. I am excited to continue my journey of learning new math and science concepts and hope that you will join me for the ride.
